Crazy that 2021 is now half way over. I was hoping by this point the world would be back to normal and I would be spamming you all with photos from my wedding at this point, but alas, the universe had other plans. Next month will be Sparkles & Shoes 9th birthday which is hard to believe as I somehow still love this little hobby and have been able to balance it with everything else. Outside of S&S working in a job that relies heavily on data and analytics I occasion take a deep dive into the numbers behind Sparkles and Shoes and today wanted t share a few with you – the most popular posts, based on the number of times they were read. The top six for this six month recap:
1 | The Pitti Palace in Florence. A post featuring the our visit to one of my favorite places in Florence, Italy. It highlights my favorite pieces inside the Medici Family’s 15th century palazzo and outside in the the Boboli Gardens.
2 | An Insiders Guide to Bath – A post featuring the best things to see, do, and eat in the ancient city of Bath. The jewel of Somerset, England is famous for its Roman-built baths and gorgeous architecture and makes for a wonderful weekend trip.
3 | Navy Pleats at Hampton Court A post featuring our day out at a Hampton Court Palace, a royal palace in Southwest London, where I wore navy pleats with a pop of red.
4 | A Long Weekend in Derbyshire – Mark and I spent the early May bank holiday weekend in the countryside and enjoyed country walks, exploring Kedleston Hall, and a visiting a Derbyshire farm!
5 | Sporty Spice in Greenwich – A casual outfit featuring an AllSaints jacket, Joules top, Prada bag, and Spanx leggings for a day of touring in London, creating a full Sporty Spice look.
6 | A Lake District Long Weekend Over the late May bank holiday highlights of our Lake District Long Weekend including hikes up Helvellyn and Old Man of Coniston.

Seeing that more than half of these were about travel, I guess you all have travel on the mind as well! This month I have two trips planned so you can look forward to some new content soon! Lastly, there were a few bonus appearances from posts that were not from 2021 but were still trending:
Have you Heard of Atticus Poetry? | Style Icon: Gisele Bündchen | Inspiring Ocean Color Palettes
Overall this second year of the pandemic is off to a good start and I am hopeful but the end of 2021 the future will be much brighter. I will be sure to bring you another six month recap then which will ideally be filled with tons more travel content!

Such wanderlust as I read this. Please, please lets get this virus under control so that we all can travel again to such wonderful spots.
Not sure which is my favorite of your choices but Bath stands out as so historical while being charming and realizing and maybe not totally overrun by tourists. What do you think?

It is so hard for me to choose but I might have to go with The Pitti Palace in Florence. I just adore series like the Crown and always try to imagine what it would be like to live in a palace and be a royal.

You do get around and I’m so happy you’re able to travel again. Let’s hope international travel opens up shortly for all of us. It is sorely missed. Your blog is fantastic and it’s funny I just showed some of my friends several of your posts when they were considering travel spots. You are always my go to travel considerations when thinking about where to spend my next trip.
