I love a good mystery and one I followed for quite some time was, “Who is the poet, Atticus?”. It turns out the man behind the mask of Atticus Poetry is actor is writer Duncan Penn. If that name does not ring a bell I would encourage you to keep reading. A few years ago I came across this article, Meet Atticus, the most famous Canadian poet you’ve never heard of, because it sums it up today’s post well. Though between the followers of my Pinterest account, those watch my Monday Motivation stories on Instagram or one of the 18 mutual followers of @AttricusPoetry on the gram there is a chance you have heard of him!
Besides Instagram Atticus, has written three New York Times Bestsellers; Love Her Wild: Poems, then The Dark Between Stars: Poems, and The Truth About Magic: Poems all of which are available on Amazon or you can find signed copies of his books on his website. I have included a few of his books in my gift guides and even got a framed Print as an engagement gift as a friend knows how much I love Atticus Poetry. However, I am going to share some of my favourite Atticus poetry snippets, all from his Instagram page:
In addition to these quotes there are dozens of people who have gotten Atticus’ poems as tattoos and you can find many of them on my Killer Tattoos Pinterest board, one of my favourites is ‘Music lives longer than kingdoms’. My only regret is that he is not a female otherwise I would love to interview him for my Sparkle Series (if I could get a response) as I think his work is fascinating and I am very curious to know more about him.
Have you heard of Atticus?

She made gentle the oceans of my soul. Really, I hope one day that a man would think of me that way.
So romantic and tender. So there really are men out there with a sweet spot in their heart an willing to verbalize or should I say write it down. Gives me hope for the men that are available. I hope his “person” knows how lucky she is.
