Hi, I’m Kelly, welcome to Sparkles and Shoes! In August 2012 I founded this fashion and travel blog while living in New York City as an outlet to share everything I love. For example, red velvet cake is my favorite, my socks never match, and I believe you can celebrate birthdays for at least a week. In case you want to know a little bit more me, read on.
I grew up in the New York City suburbs, surrounded by green grass and sidewalks but I longed for the concrete jungle. On my way to the Big Apple I spent four wonderful years in Washington, D.C. for university, Go Hoyas! As soon as I finished my degree I came right back moving to New York City and starting this blog in the summer of 2012. From solo trips to fashion week escapades I had the best time in New York but to further my love of travel and advancing my career I made the move in April of 2018 from Manhattan to London, England!
I spend the weekdays working in digital advertising and my evenings spinning, blogging, and attending events. On the weekends you can find me enjoying my favorite meal, brunch, with my ideal order of an oat milk flat white, a mimosa, and some variation of an egg white omelette with fresh cheese and greens. When the sun goes down I love checking out new restaurants with friends, date night with my husband, and love all food as long as it is not too spicy. Pinot Grigio is my drink of choice, Sancerre if we are going to get fancy.
In June 2020 I got engaged to the best guy and after more hurtles thank you can imagine my endless wedding planning ended with the best celebration in October 2021. Various aspects of my big day are featured in a series called Wedding Wednesday!
