Goodness I miss travel! My last time on an airplane was six months ago and I am itching to fly off to somewhere new again – good things I have tickets booked to a few fun places soon. Since more than half of the posts in my six month recap post featured travel I thought it was time to share another highlight of a wonderful adventure. In case you are new here Mark and I went on a two week Italian road trip in late September and early October last year to celebrate our birthday’s! Our second stop of the trip was to the five most famous towns in Liguria and on our second evening we went on a Cinque Terre Boat Tour.
You saw two shots of this evening in my Live from Italy post but it deserved it’s own recap and based on yesterday’s data – I will be sure to bring you more travel posts! We booked with Airbnb Experiences on a tour called Cinque Terre sunset + unlimited wine! which was a two hour tour from Riomaggiore, from 5:30 to 7:30 which was perfectly times for the sunset. We left from the southernmost town and drove North along to coastline, providing the alternative perspective then then one we had when we Hiked the Villages of Cinque Terre.
We sipped on local white wine and enjoyed homemade foccicia as we cruised from Riomaggiore to Manarola and then onwards to the middle town of Corniglia before continuing to Vernazza and finally to Monterosso al Mare. We then turned and faced the sunset, floating in the middle of the Ligurian Sea, and as the tour advertised you could, “jump off the boat for a dip in the middle of the Mediterranean (optional but highly recommended!)” I was 100% going to take full opportunity of that offer – you can see the photos below:

My partner and I have been looking at the travel brochures trying to figure out a spot or two in Italy where we can move around a bit out of the big cities and this seems like a nice mix.
Do you recommend doing all five towns? I remember reading about this trip of yours before and would never have thought to add a boat ride too but how romantic is that.

Too funny, I got my favorite pair of little Italian shoes here. Talk about a great souvenir that I am so thrilled that I splurged on.
Always brings back the most fun and fondest memories of such an amazing place. When people ask me where to go, this is always in my top 5. Nothing like it anywhere in the world!

I would do anything in that adorable looking spot.
You certainly know that you are not in the US….wish we had such pretty spots here.

Haven’t finalized my honeymoon plans for my September wedding. I know, I am way behind. Now that travel hopefully will open up a bit more, thoughts on this as a destination?
Looks so romantic.

On my bucket list to go there. I remember your last trip there and it put it on our bucket list. So picturesque!

When I went there we didn’t have time to take a boat tour and I really Wish we had based on your photos. We did get to hike to a few of the towns. A few of them we couldn’t get to as the trails were closed. I’ve always wanted to go back and have recommended the spot to many of my friends. Next time I go I’ll have to make sure to allow for a boat trip.
