Happy Fashion Friday and happy end of my first full week of work in what seems like ages. As the days get long and longer I put my tights, hats, and gloves away at the end of March with daylights savings – joke was on me – last Monday it snowed and I had to pull everything back down, so sad! But until it gets warm enough where tights are banished for the rest of the season let’s chat about this look and the gorgeous background. You have seen this palace in a few posts in the past – the Hampton Court Flower Show and in a Floral Dress in the Gardens. It is a gorgeous place in the Summer and I am happy to report, pretty in the colder months as well.
While not an official royal residence like Buckingham or Windsor this Grade I listed royal palace is 12 miles Southwest of central London on the River Thames. It has been standing on this spot for more than 500 years dating back to the time of King Henry VIII and is only two surviving palaces the king owned. And while I do not want to mention the sadness that befell the royal family last week but this palace is currently in the possession of Queen Elizabeth II and the Crown. And now onto the outfit details – the dress is from a British designer JW Anderson and the navy pleats make spinning and twirling so fun but I felt to make it a bit more form fitting I felt like the red skinny belt was a necessary addition. You can let me know what you think though:

What do you think of this dress with navy pleats?
Nicola says
Truthfully it is not my favorite look on you.
You kind of look like a school teacher. Sorry.

No worries, not every look can be a winner! Hopefully you will like next week’s Fashion Friday more!

My boyfriend is such a history nut that when I mentioned this post to him he said as usual, add it to the list.
Reading your blog has given us such an entry to the world and places that we need to go see it is marvelous. The only problem is we keep adding and then have to prioritize in what order we are going to get to go see some of them!
Kelly says
That is the best kind of problem to have!

This is such a gorgeous palace. I feel like I’m watching Downton Abbey again. I really miss that show and love that whole period of history.
Kelly says
There were actually a few Downtown Abbey scenes filmed here, including one with Lady Edith!
