Hello and welcome to 2026! It feels surreal to write that, but here we are. This year marks a significant shift for me; I can no longer say I had a baby this year, and we are just days away from celebrating Henry’s first birthday. For the first time in what feels like forever, I am neither pregnant nor breastfeeding, and I am beyond excited to dive back into my wardrobe. There are so many items that have been literally gathering dust, and these fun black block heels are definitely coming back into rotation.
Specifically these are the Sam Edelman Women’s Yaro Dress Sandals. Looking back through my archives, it is clear why these have remained a staple for so long. They have traveled the world with me, proving their versatility across countless occasions. I remember wearing them for an early morning photoshoot during a business trip to France and I have fond memories of wearing them for a beautiful evening out in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, paired with a silk polka dot look. These black block heels have been there for my most cherished milestones as well. They were my go-to choice during our engagement-moon in St. Lucia—seen at Pigeon Point and on multiple date nights. They even made an appearance at Hever Castle, the very spot where Mark and I got engaged, for the Tulip Festival. Whether I was attending a British country wedding in Kent or celebrating the final night of my bachelorette party in Charleston, South Carolina, these shoes never let me down.
Even during the quieter moments, like working from home during the London lockdown, I found ways to style them—most notably with a glitter pleated midi skirt to brighten the day. From date nights in London to family trips in Naples, Florida, these black block heels have seen it all. I cannot wait to see where they take me in 2026 as I rediscover my style and embrace this new chapter!

Summer Shoes. Now we are talking among my favorite fashion topics. Too cold right now to wear any kind of high heel sandal. Block heels are among my favorites. Preferred height 4 to 4.5 inches. Some stability with style works wonders with a stylish dress, skirt or jumpsuit. Benn stuck wearing coats, jeans, sneakers/boots (for going out) since November.
