Firsts: One week after you turned 7 months rolling like crazy and traveling the distance of a room in no time at all most backwards or sideways – silly baby bear. August (and the first few months of September) continued to be busy. We spent Labor Day in New Hampshire and Henry’s first time in and on a lake – he was pure smiles and widely enjoyed his first time on a boat. A few days ago Henry got to go on another bike ride and this time it was with Lily in the trailer (she held his hand, be still my heart). Back at home Henry had cuddles with Lily in the morning in her crib – it was nearly too cute to handle and a photo is now my iPhone lock screen.
Weight: Heavy! Not as much as his big sister but the little man is solid.
Length: Honestly, no idea!
Teeth: EIGHT TEETH!!! 8 teeth at 8 months, what is going on?!? I know you’re not supposed to compare your kids but at this age Lily had none. Little man has been teething for what feels like ages so looking forward to him not being in pain as hopefully we will get a break.
Loves: He is my happy boy, 95% of the time he is happy and everything from music to people playing with him can elicit a belly laugh.
- Chewing on everything in the bath from the washcloths to the plastic thermos meter to Lily’s bath toys.
- Henry continues to love his Lovevery Play Gym, especially when things are added within his reach that he can grab—bonus points if they rattle.
- Chewing on anything and everything—from toys, fingers, and hair to all sorts of food. Speaking of food, Henry loves eating fruit from these Silicone Baby Fruit Feeder pops,, especially when it’s cold along with peanut butter bambas.
- Eating in general, as he enjoys more and more solids. He will even grab the spoon out of a grown-up’s hand if they are too slow.
- Sitting propped against pillows and trying to see everything going on around him.
- He is almost too big for fisher price bouncer but great for when everyone is moving about the kitchen, he can just watch.
Hates: Henry hates when anyone takes too long feeding him (solids or milk) or when feeding is stopped for a burp. He also despises getting dressed if anything gets stuck going over his head—and honestly, fair.
Moments to Remember:
- Unlike Lily he LOVED his first boat ride.
- Despite our busy schedules and days commuting into NEw York City we try very hard to have dinner every night as a family of four and Henry loves being a part of the action.
- Henry’s UK passport arrived and he is now a dual citizen just like his sister.
- Lily obsessed with her brother, wants to have him lay in her crib so she can play “eeep” (sleep) and have him lay on her pillow and put a blanket on him.
- I don’t know why I say this all of the time but at least once a day I say “who is the best little buddy in the land of little buddies”. No, it does not make sense.
- When he on occasion gets upset when I sing him the Itsy Bitsy Spider he nearly always calms down.
