Three months of Lily, oh my goodness. She is officially no longer a newborn and that makes my Mommy heart sad. Plus means my maternity leave is half over and I know I’m very fortunate to have six months but still, I need more time! I am going to try my very best to make this a monthly series and in case you missed it after Lily’s first month I shared this update and then her two month update. This month was the busiest yet with lots of travel and in general Lily has been a very good girl. She’s had a few tummy issues but we are getting those sorted so a facts about Lily Harper for her three month update:
Nicknames: Lily Girl, Monkey, Squish (all the same as last month) and a few new ones: Big Girl, cheeky monkey, and her Mimi (maternal grandma) calls her Lily Bud.
Firsts: Lily is definitely my daughter and went on her first domestic holiday to Cornwall and I am currently reporting live from her first international holiday to the United States! These travels mean she has her first passport (actually two as she’s a dual citizen of the US and UK), her first boat ride, and her first plane trip. Since she’s been in the US she’s already been to four states and met a number of her extended family members including great aunts and uncles and her two great grandmas. And in celebrating my brother’s upcoming nuptials Lily also attended her first cocktail party and first bridal shower.
Weight: 11 pounds
Length: 22 inches, nearly time to take out the newborn insert in her car seat LINK
Teeth: Lily has 0 teeth.
Loves: I had thought this section would be the same every month but new in month three Lily LOVED Being held over your left shoulder. When she’s awake she enjoys spending time on her activity play mat , watching her elephant swing, and laying on the changing table while you talk to her or sing her songs. When she’s sleeping she loves being in the Babybjorn carrier (but only when you’re moving). And last but not least her standards are still true – she loves eating, playing with her hands, the and the sounds from her white noise machine and Ewan the sheep.
Hates: This month Lily has started reacting (read: getting alarmed)at very loud sudden noises like a blender or a hairdryer. It is not that she cries but she definitely bites me if she’s feeding – ouch. While she still hates wearing hats thankfully as it gets warmer we are switching more to sun hats, which seem to be okay, but the occasional warm weather cap still gets shrieks. Lastly, she hates when her nappy is dirty as mark adorable pits it “having a blue bottom” #ifyouknowyouknow

In Lily’s third month she has become so much more observant. When held over your shoulder, her new favorite position, she looks around and is taking in her surroundings. She especially loves looking towards the light and if someone is wearing stripes. She is also holding her head up for longer periods of time, both in tummy time and when being held. Sadly, no longer loves the cuddle position or laying in her DockATot for long periods of time.
The best thing of these last 30 days though is quite possibly that she now recognizes me and if she’s not fussy, tends to smile when she sees me and hears my voice. 🙂 I had a lot more to write in this three month update than I thought – can’t wait to see what the fourth is.

Each stage is so fun and it keeps getting better and better.
This will be such a lovely way to track her milestones for you and you can answer her questions about the “first” time she did so many things.
She is also pretty darn cute.

It’s so fun when they recognize you when you get that most wonderful smile. Doesn’t your heart just filled with love that you didn’t even know could be filled that much. So glad you’re enjoying her.
