It is hard to believe that our trip to Croatia was already two Summers ago but time flies. I had to actually look up the date but remembering it was our last holiday before our October 2021 wedding, that makes sense. We love an Airbnb experience and during lockdown watched the entire game of thrones series. It was “good” in my book but mark throughly enjoyed it to the point where he’s re-watching it. Thus, when we (and by that I mean me) were planning our Croatia trip I put the Game of Thrones & the Old City Grand Tour as a must. With an average rating of 4.97 out of 5 the thousands of guests have said this three hour tour is an excellent value and that the host Jelena excels in storytelling both of which I strongly agree with.
Part of the reason this post is delayed is there were 217 photos which I cut down to 58 and now posted 19 with captions for those true fans. The main reason is two pregnancies but the photos just sounds better; no? Here are my favorite shots from our day exploring Dubrovnik (ahem, King’s Landing)
_______
Dubrovnik West Harbour as Blackwater Bay
Dubrovnik West Pier shot as the pier in Blackwater Bay
Tower and yard of the Dominican Monastery in Dubrovnik,
The Rector’s Palace as the backdrop for Qarth
The Old Port – Historical landmark in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Minceta Tower as The House of Undying
Onofrio’s Large Fountain
Tower of the Dominikanski samostan – Dominic Monastery in Dubrovnik, Croatia dating back to 1225,
Fort Lovrijenac as the Red Keep
Fort Bokar as the city walls of Kings Landing.
The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
Kings Landing Walls with View of Lovrijenac Fort (The Red Keep)
The City Walls of Dubrovnik as King’s Landing
Jesuit Staircase by Saint Ignatius Church for Cersei’s walk of shame
Sponza Palace featured in Season 8 when Arya and the Hound enter King’s Landing looking for the queen.
The City Walls of Dubrovnik as King’s Landing
Ploce Gate as the entrance to Kings Landing
Dubrovnik’s Old Town as seen in the last season of Game of Thrones when King’s Landing was burned to the ground
Later this day got heat stroke walking around the city walls and the day after my phone went swimming in the sea but this thuly was an amazing three hour Dubrovnik Game of Thrones tour!

I never knew where they filmed it. Super that you could match the photo with where you were.
Looks like it was a fantastic trip.
