It is no secret I am a fan of wine and this year I scoffed at the idea of dry January. Not because a reset wouldn’t be great but because I love wine and think it is a great way to wind down ant the end of the day. Not everyday, but a few days a week. And on those days unlike some others, I do not treat it is a bottle a night – one glass is just fine but for that vino, I have been collecting a number of gadgets to make my vino experience better. Today I wanted to share with you my ten favorite wine accessories:
| Silicone Wine Stopper. – This list has my preferred stoppers for whites, reds, and bubbles but I have found that silicone stoppers really do work best for whites in the fridge. I have tried a number of rainbow options and found that the from Target work best for me!
| Corkcicle Wine Chiller – There are so many great inventions for keeping wine cold from chilling sleeves to marble holders and to be honest, nothing beats an ice bucket. However, if you are some place where a large ice bucket is not a realistic option this really does the trick.
| Vacuum Wine Remover. Another of my more recent acquisitions was this which has been perfect as in the Winter I tend to drink more red. This device Pump extracts air from bottle to preserve wine’s flavor and the stopper Keeps wine fresh longer than cork alone – perfect for a winter red wine lover like me
| Champagne Stopper – Do not get me wrong, when I pop a bottle of champagne it is nearly always finished – no need to find a way to reclose it. However, one of my favorite summer cocktails is an Aperol Spritz and the recipe calls for Prosceco. If you are just making one or two you will likely not go through a whole bottle but you do no want it to go to waste? Insert the – a clutch invention
| Honeycomb Wine Rack – Ours is from John Lewis but is not made anymore which is a shame, because we actually have four of them. – I really like this , the gold is so pretty!
| Gold Plated Signature Corkscrew – I have purchased lots of fancy corck screws and this for some reason is my fearful go-to even though it is nothing special. Sometimes basics really are best.
| Stickers – I bought a similar pack to these in the UK at the end of last year to create a system. Some wines I know by the label but others, whether I bought to try or received as a gift, I am not sure how much they are. Special occasion price or drink on a Tuesday price? It is good to know at a glance!
| Wine Markers – I received a two pack of these a house warming gift and while I was initially confused what the gold and silver pens were for I quickly discovered it much easier than charms to identify whose glass is whose.
| An Aerator – This was featured In my best purchases of 2020 post and it clearly deserves as spot here as well.
| Glass Decanter – As great as the aerator is, nothing is going to be beat a proper decanter and this 1.5L Crystal Wine Decanter is definitely the way to go. The U shape makes it visually appealing and it truly helps the wine breathe!

And while not actually a gadget or item that fits under the category of wine accessories I also love the Vivino app. If you are a wine fan you likely have heard of it as there are over 50 million users but I find it helpful to both rate wines I have tried but also to price check different bottles when shopping!
