For the past three years at the end of every week I have published a new look under my Fashion Friday series but today I wanted to share a few outfits that are a bit different. None of these were planned shoots with a DSLR and multiple detailed images of an outfit, just a quick snap of my daily attire – let me explain. It is hard to believe I am finishing month twelve of working from home and aside from glamorous, yet delayed, outfits every Friday, here is a glimpse of my real WFH style.
Since the start of the year I have made a big effort to get dressed every day for work. Actually dressed, head to toe including shoes even though I have no plans to leave the flat and no one is going to see me from chest down on my video calls.
I started doing this because have found motivation since the beginning of January harder in almost all things. This is the third lockdown we have had in England but it’s the first where it has been both cold and dark and with no end in sight. One of the things I am trying to do, along with my February Fitness challenge, is to get dressed for work every day. And realistically this post could also be called my ‘Real Life WFH Outfits’ take a look at some of the outfits I have put together in the last six weeks and please excuse the over abundance of mirror selfies.
Most days I am able to put on makeup and a cute outfit, it works about 80% of the time. And some days I get only half way there, like the day below where I tried hard but only got half way there. Comfort is key but also it helps put me in the right mindset.
As I have mentioned in a few previous posts, I try not to purchase new clothes all the time. Many of these are from stores that you can not shop online and others are from many seasons ago but the items that are still shopbapable, I have them linked below:
What do you think of my WFH style?

Anything we can do to keep our mood on the upswing I say go for it. We have to take our small pleasures whenever we can get them.

I have been doing the same thing and it does help keep my spirits up and I never know when I will need to be face ready for an unexpected conference call.
That happened to me once and never again!

You are a much braver person than me, I have not put on jeans in months.
COVID has not been as good to me as it has to you. You look fantastic. Keep up the good work.

I feel for you with lockdown. I must be so hard to keep your motivation. You are very inspirational and I know you’re so looking forward to this being all over with. I love your blog.

For me I have to dress up in at least Jeans and a nice top when I am working from home in winter. For warmer weather it could be anything from a dress and heels to a skirt with a nice top especially if I am going out at some point during the day. Because the weather has been so crappy here in NYC for the whole month of February I have not wore and dresses or heels. Whole month for me has been jeans, sweaters, sneakers or boots if it snowing. Also my apartment has not had much heat because of a broken boiler. As for your work from home fashion I love it. My favorites are the caged sandals and leopard dress. As soon as it warms up at bit and I have consistent heat at home I will be breaking out better fashion choices.
