In Oscar de la Renta gown at the Breakthrough Prize Event (soruce)
I have featured Lupita a number of times on Sparkles and Shoes under my best dressed looks, including round ups like The Best Dresses of 2015, the Best Dressed from the Oscar’s Red Carpet, and the Best Dressed Golden Globes 2019, so I figured it was about time she got her own post devoted to her best outfits. You may recall that Lupita Nyong’o burst onto the scene in 2014 and took home the Oscar for 12 Years a Slave. However, the only thing I am going to cover about the 86th Academy Awards is her gorgeous gown. The 35 year old Ivy League grad has been working with Power Stylist Micaela Erlanger for at least the last six years and I love almost everything Micaela has dressed Lupita in. Micaela really understands the colors and cuts that work best with Luptia’s skin tone and body shape making her red carpet appearances something to look forward to.
Since her big Oscar win Lupita has stared in a few other big Blockbuster movies like Star Wars: Episode VII and thE Jungle book but my favorite recent movie of hers was Black Panther, #girlpower. Outside of red carpets she is not photographed very often by the paparazzi but I really do like her street style, a few of which I featured below. Lupita has some great structured pieces in her wardrobe and some killer shoes and handbags from Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, and the like.

I fell in love with her in 12 Years as a Skave. Her performance was riveting and now her wardrobe is as well.
I admire her spunk in trying so many different looks and colors. Her hair styles are also varietal.

I like that she’s willing to wear any color and any kind of style. Most celebrities seem to go with the same look all the time. Good choice.

The custom Prada. Which she wore to the Oscars is by far my favorite. She is simply stunning in it and looks like a princess.
