Despite our best efforts and more that 100 photos the slightly blurry one above was the best we could get – this little guy never wants to stay still, especially when you put him on his back – my little rollie pollie! In November it was officially cold enough to have the doona foot muff back on – used it when he was first born (including coming home from the hospital – but SO much bigger now!) His 11 month update:
Nicknames: Big Boy, Little Man, Chunky Monkey, Big Guy (mark only), Papito (Isa only) and Henry James.
Firsts:
- Clapping is now a daily occurrence and sometimes, I catch what I might think is a wave – stay tuned.
- Thanksgiving – he loved the sweet potato, thought the turkey and green beans were okay, and was ecstatic with how many people fawned over him.
Weight: I would guess a bit over 20lbs as big guy is a huge fan of solids.
Length: Nearly 28 inches (and getting too long for nearly all his 6-9 month clothes)

Teeth: Still only eight (the same as a few months ago) but over Thanksgiving we noticed an eruption cyst (a molar threatening to pop through) and it makes the little man so sad!
Loves: Behind held, seeing the world,
Hates: When you leave him alone even when it is less than a minute. He also did not love being a lap infant on the flights to and from Florida. While he is not walking yet he wants to explore and behind held down was not a favorite memory.
Moments to Remember:
- Unlike our trip to Florida in April Henry loved the pool in Florida and positively beamed when he got to go in the water every day.
- starting first swim lessons at the local YMCA now that he is old enough – he and Lily will be in back to back classes and my former competitive swimmer is thrilled about that even if logistically it will be a bit tricky with only five minutes in between classes but thank goodness for Mark.
- We put him in his little bear suit any chance we get and it makes me oh so happy – take a look in case you missed it on Instagram!
I am really looking forward to his first Christmas, first trip to England, lots of family time, and celebrating his cousin Emily’s first birthday! I love you Baby Bear and it is bitter sweet in just a few weeks I will be writing your final monthly update.
