Baby Bear! Another update for my little man and I can not believe how much time is flying. I will tell anyone who will listen that you are the best baby and I could not mean it more true. This boy is the happiest and smiliest and a pure light in my life.
Nicknames: Big Boy, Little Man, and Baby Henry are the top three. Occasionally I call him “Abu Abu” but Mark does not like it.
Firsts: For our daily walks Henry has been upgrade from Uppababy Bassinet to rumble seat (though with insert). He is now sleeping in his own room (see below) and on Wednesday’s we have started weekly swim lessons. We took Henry to the Zoo for the first time last weekend and while he slept most of the time he enjoyed it.
Weight: I would guess 15-16 pounds though let’s see next month at his checkup.
Length: Unsure but he is starting to outgrown his 3-6 month clothes unless their is stretch.
Teeth: One with the second threatening to pop through any day now and my poor boy is not happy about it. As I mentioned in the last update the drool is nearly constant and anywhere we go he has to be wearing a muslin bib or his outfit is soaked and if you hold him on your shoulder for more than a few minutes you better believe it will be wet.
Loves: Rolling around on his Lovevery Playgym and spending more time on his stomach than his back. He continues to giggle and smile when people make faces or funny noises at him. Like his sister his favorite toy is his teething Sophie and we have multiple – one on stroller, one on car seat, one in diaper bag, and possibly even a few more?
Hates: Being hungry and waking up from a nap when no one is around – both pretty standard and quite understandable.
Moments I don’t want to forget:
- You have been evicted from mum and dad’s room as you rolled over and got stuck against the side of your bedside bassinet so you are now in your big boy room sleeping it what used to be Lily’s crib in London!
- Not really one I want to remember but you have stopped sleeping through the night and I am not a fan.
- Despite the lack of 8+ hour nights we have finally established a consistent nighttime routine (like with Lily) – bath, change, book, top up feed, and then down for the night in a sleep sack in your crib complete with white noise.
- Family dinners in his Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair with the Newborn Set Insert.
- The smelly farts continue a few times a day and smell absolutely like they came from an adult but when he actually poops (once a week) it smells like baby – so odd!
- Henry’s first passport – his American one – has arrived and we are working on the UK one as he get’s to be a dual citizen.
I am so sad that this now begins my last month of maternity leave – Henry boy are an absoluty joy and I am trying to savor every moment. I am also gearing up for first trip away from Henry this upcoming weekend and I am pumping like crazy so there is enough “mommy milk” while I am gone.
We love you Baby Henry, happy five month birthday!
