A bit behind on the updates? Yes. Post dating this one? Yes. It is true what they say about the second kid but our little Henry James is no less loved, things are just a bit busier. Mark and I made sure to take these photos on May 5th though, Henry James four month birthday and we got him a new book, like we did with Lily on every month birthday. (We opted for Never Touch a Dinosaur!, a board book picked out on one of our innumerable Target trips). Now a recap for Henry’s four month birthday:
___
Nicknames: No changes this month though Baby Bear has dropped off a bit with “Baby Henry” likely becoming the most popular as this is almost exclusively how we refer to him with Lily. She has started to say “baba” meaning baby and Mark and I alternate between his actual name, Big Boy, and Little Man.
Firsts: The highlight of the last month was the 2.5 weeks we spent in Naples, Florida for a very extended Easter break. So many core memories were made and Henry went on his first (and second) flight, went in the pool for the first time, golf cart ride, trip to the beach, and visit to a farm – we went strawberry picking!
Weight: Nearly 14 pounds at his four month check up – big boy!
Length: 24 inches, a big jump from his 2-month check up and now exclusively in 3-6 month clothing with a few cheeky 6-9 ones thrown in.
Teeth: Henry has 0 teeth though I have a feeling, like his cousin Emily, they are coming soon. The drool is nearly constant and anywhere we go he has to be wearing a muslin bib or his outfit is soaked.
Loves: The Lovevery Playgym! is still the biggest hit tied with the BabyBjörn Bouncer (and the essential toy bar). However, my mom just got him this Graco Slim Spaces Compact Baby Swing and that is also a hit.
Hates: Being hungry and waking up from a nap when no one is around.
Moments I don’t want to forget:
- Lily wanting to (and actually helping) change Henry’s diaper though she is a bigger fan of wiping his belly button than his privates.
- Rolling out of tummy time when board.
- Chirping and squeaking up a storm where you have to look at him to make sure they are happy noises.
- Family dinners in his Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair with the Newborn Set Insert.
- A strange one but Henry has the SMELLIEST farts which he graces us with many times a day but he only occasionally actually poops – maybe only once a week!
I don’t want to rush things, rather I want time to slow, but I am excited for next month when we can break into Lily’s first Lovevery playkit for babies 5-6 months old – I know he will love so many of the items! Until then, here are a few of Henry’s four month favorites – all linked above and here:
We love you Baby Henry, happy four month birthday!
