on the Power of Uniform Dressing, InStyle Magazine
“We always know better than anybody else what looks best on us. Even if people are complimenting you, if you think, I hate what I have on, it’s not right. It’s important to find what really suits who you are, because style isn’t only what you wear, it’s what you project.” – Carolina Herrera
My latest Style Icon is a bit of deviation from the normal ladies I feature but a welcome change. I have been asked a few times to not feature as many bloggers and models but more “real people” and I will start with one of the most fashionable, Carolina Herrera. Looking at photos of her it is hard to believe this Venezuelan born designer is over 80 but it is true, her Caracas birth certificate dates January 8th, 1939 makes her 82!
She started working for famous designers before starting her own clothing line, Carolina Herrera, in 1981. This post could absolutely be about her gorgeous designs and how over the last four decades she has dressed some of the world leading ladies, from Jacqueline Onassis, and Michelle Obama to s Renée Zellweger. However today i want to focus on the gorgeous designer’s love of a white oxford and some of her best looks over the last decade. Take a look at the iconic Carolina Herrera style:

Do you agree with this Carolina Herrera style feature?
Bernadette says
I do agree. I like it when women still dress very nicely but appropriately for their age. Not that you need to wear “Grandma” type looks but nothing too tight or too low etc… so that you are trying to look like your teenage daughter.
She makes this look effortless and not too fussy too. You are 100% on target.

She is the queen of the pop and semi popped collar and it really works for her.
Her accessories are spot on too and I especially love the belt that she paired with the gray vintage look from the Instagram photo.. She must of had that made just for her as I don’t recall seeing anything like it.
