Classic Fall Fashion

In partnership with Zappos I styled my new Paige jeans and Freebird boots into my perfect fall fashion look.  Jeans, boots, and light coat have always defined my fall fashion and since these jeans and boots have made their way into my closet, they have become an essential part of the uniform.

I love New York City every day but there is something about marathon day that is extra special – between the 50,000 runners who pass through all five boroughs and the millions of people cheering them on, it is alive with energy.   I decided that these black Freebird Irish boots and these Paige Skyline Ankle Peg jeans in Constance would be the defining pieces for my perfect marathon look.   This is my third fall living in New York City and the past two years have taught me – dress comfortably, in layers, and look cute because you never know where you will end up.  

Case in point – yesterday started with brunch, moved to a friend’s apartment for a marathon watch party, then to the street to cheer on runners, then to a music venue that was so crowded you were allowed to drink on the sidewalk, then to a bar for Sunday football, and ended at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Thank goodness these new boots were up for the task – Freebird by Steven boots are handcrafted from start to finish, using a traditional Goodyear construction, in which stacks of leather are hammered together and carefully stitched to create a virtually indestructible sole. This technique has been used to create the highest quality boots for centuries.  In my mind, yesterday was the perfect fall day in New York City and this was the perfect fall outfit! 

I ordered these jeans and boots from Zappos and despite living in a city where everything is at my finger tips finding the item I am looking for in my size and at the best price is often near impossible. Sure, shopping in New York City is exhilarating but when you have to push through dozens of fashionistas and hundreds to tourists just to tackle mountains of clothes and endless racks of hangers sometimes it is too much.  Being able to shop online with confidence is incredibly appealing. When I say shop online with confidence I mean there is always fast and free shipping both ways at Zappos, a free 365 day return policy, and amazing customer service. Plus, when I shop on Zappos.com I am looking at items from over 1,000 brands including Freebird and Paige – they have much more than just shoes and traditional department stores have nothing on them. 

Once I order something I am one of those overly zealous people who checks on my order a few times a day to make sure it is getting processed properly and then watch the shipping until the package is in my hands.  I loved that the morning after I ordered these boots and jeans I checked and the shipping status read “We’re On It!” How perfect?  I feel like that is something I say on a regular basis at work, “I’m on it!”.  The status did not stay that way for long, however, soon my boots and jeans were on their way to the Big Apple!  Speaking of, these jeans –  the Paige brand is completely obsessed with designing pieces you’ll live in-jeans that go from morning to moonlight; the perfect pair that works like a charm, always; pieces to help you stand tall in what you’re wearing, and take you exactly where you want to go. And boy did we go:
