Happy 8th Birthday Sparkles and Shoes!

\Happy, Happy Birthday Sparkles and Shoes!   Yesterday, August 2nd, is Sparkles and Shoes’ official birthday but I had a lazy Sunday to celebrate and thus, you get to hear about it today! My blog is now 8 years old and in the eight years since I first hit publish on my first post and an incredible amount has changed –  I now have a great job instead of an entry level one, I now live in a foreign country instead of 30 minutes from where I grew up, and I am engagement and planning a wedding! 

Each year I write my blog a birthday letter and take a look back to the start and it is such an amazing reflection and keepsake of my life – like a diary magnified 1,000 times.  While the name Sparkles & Shoes has been around for nearly the entire time I have had this blog in some ways the content still stays true to the original name,  “My Favorite Things Kelly Ann”.   True, my favourites have shifted over the years and Two of the biggest changes have been the change towards nearly featuring fashion trends to wearing them and the abundance of travel content, reflective of how my life has changed.

However, some things have not changed – there have been a few topics I have 100% stayed clear of including religion and politics though have changed my thoughts on talking about dating since I have gone past that and have now found my lobster.  And since this has now become a trend, enjoy a few photos from 8th Blogger Birthday photoshoot which you better believe got a lot of stares when people realized there were no children associated to that big number 8 balloon!

I am also thankful that because of this blog I have so much of the post-university life  and reference it at least once a week when people ask me a question.  (In case you want to go down memory lane here is the 1st Birthday, 2nd Birthday, 3rd Birthday, 4th Birthday, 5th birthday, and 6th birthday, and 7th Birthday posts!)
