During the Bank Holiday weekend in August (the weekend before Memorial Day) I was back in New York and had the best time back in my city, even it was only for four days. This Fashion Friday is what I wore for a morning at the Met followed by lunch at the Plaza, and an afternoon in Central Park and shopping on 5th Avenue. Can you think of a more New York Sunday?
To be fair it is one of the more casual looks I wore but when the weather is hot and you are going to be walking miles, you need to find a happy medium between practical and fashion blogger. And in case you want a more chic look, the night before we were all dressed up for the theater and I am still crushing on this black and red look. Take a look at how I styled this tie front dress with details to shop below:
Dress | FancyInn Tie Front Midi Dress in Blue
Sneakers | L.K. Bennett Ricky’s Leather Trainers Sandals | Jack Roger Navajo Sandals in Silver
Watch | Michael Kors Paris Runway Watch Bracelet | David Yurman Cable Bracelet with Blue Topaz
Sunglasses | Le Specs Armada Sunglasses
After our adventure day I then switched up the look mid afternoon, trading my metallic sneakers for my tried and true Jack Rogers. We then headed out again for an afternoon of drinks on the water (at one of my favorites, Boat Basin) and as afternoon turned to evening took gorgeous stroll along the water. We then headed down the Upper West Side to another favorite spot, the Meatball Shop, for a wonderful double date dinner.
Which of these looks with the tie front dress do you prefer?

Cute pattern on you and looks like a really comfortable dress.
I’m torn. sometimes the more conservative side of me would lean towards the Jack Rogers but the sneakers really show some serious attitude. Especially walking around in New York City. They might take my vote.

Jack Rogers it is for me hands down.
If I had to walk slot, I would wear the stylish sneakers and then slip on the Jack Rogers for good looks.

I love this tie front dress on you. This is a must for me. Look #1 is my mom’s sneaker dress style commuitting to and from work back in the 1980’s. This is my style if I walking a lot. Look #2 is more modern. Stylish flip flops for a casual outing. Can’t walk too far in flip flops no matter how confy they are. Wedges/heels are more for shorter distances.

You always look so adorable when touring and am glad that sometimes you were sneakers to give your feet a break.
For photos though, I prefer the Jack Rogers look.
