Happy New Year and welcome to the first real day of 2017! This year, unlike years in the past, I have did not have any big plans for New Year’s. This holiday has always been a bit odd for me as in college as one year changed to the next I was always on a training trip with the entire swim team and then after a few years of New York City escapades I have stayed in Florida, the last two years attending big glitzy parities. This year, however, was a bit different and while I did have the chance to attend a glamorous party with hundreds of people I decided to try something new – low key fireworks on the beach to celebrate the New Year.
However, I never miss an excuse to dress up or party so I pulled out something from the very back of my closet, a dress not seen on the blog since April of 2013 and styled it for NYE. This is definitely what I would have worn to a New Year’a party in sunny 80+ degree Florida, a snakeskin dress paired with gold strappy sandals I picked up on Black Friday and glittery studs. (Oh, and since someone asked, yes, for the 4th year in a row I am doing dry January, giving up alcohol for the first month of the year and for the 2nd year, participating in a Dietbet). But back to the good times when I was drinking alcohol – take a look at my New Year’s Eve outfit and because Veuve Clicquot French champagne is always a good idea:
Happy New Year!
How did you ring in 2017?

Happy new year to you. I love this dress and the stylish high heel sandals. You should have went to that big party with that outfit. New Years with warm weather is awesome too. I went to a house party and it was awesome. Got my New Years kiss and a lot more when I slipped into the spare bed room with my boyfriend. Thus I started my year with a big bang (:)
