For the first time in years I was home for Easter weekend and it was absolutely amazing to be with my family. It was definitely worth the pricy flights down to spend Easter Sunday with my parents, brother, and grandmother. I must admit, I had missed waking up to peeps and having a delicious family brunch plus the warm weather didn’t hurt. Last year I had a midday meal with my brother on the Upper East Side but nothing is quite like being home with family for one of the biggest holidays of the year!
As the temperate was in the mid eighties I chose a lightweight fuchsia dress and kept it simple with nude pumps and pearl jewelry. I started the day swimming three thousands meters and changed in to this look for our noon brunch. As my hair was still a bit damp when we arrived I let it early dry through the meal and we were able to take a few photos afterwards.

I did not plan this but I love how nicely the pink of the dress, or raspberry as the tag said, plays well with the green background, especially the palm trees! As we headed inside the dinging room was adorable decorated for Easter with bunnies, garlands, fake grass, and toy eggs strewn everywhere. While I admired the decor I was most excited about the raw bar featuring jumbo shrimp, King Crab legs, and oysters, my favorite.
For my first course I put a bit of salad on my appetizer plate as I rounded the buffet but my main focus was the seafood and I happily started Easter brunch with crab, legs and shrimp. Afterwards with dozens of options I found it quite difficult to choose for the entree course so I ended up with an interesting trio of a lamb lollipop in a mushroom reduction, blueberry pancakes fresh of the griddle, and a baked ham with pineapple chutney. All three were quite nice.
For dessert again I simply could not make up my mind so I put a small piece of everything that looked good on my plate – bread putting with icing, fresh key lime pie, mini caramel cheesecake bites, pecan pie, and a fresh fruit tartlet. And again, none of them disappointed and I was glad we stayed sitting for half an hour after the meal ended so we could digest and simple enjoy each others company!
And no recap of my Easter brunch would be completely without capping it off with a precious photo you may have already seen on Instagram and Facebook but that needs to be shared again:
