It has been a long time since I have given a run down of my favorite beauty products. I know Sparkles and Shoes is not a beauty blog and there are dozens of ladies, and even a few gents who write terrific beauty blogs and film stunning YouTube videos about everything beauty related and then some but sometimes you need a pinch of real.
What do I mean a pinch of real? I will never endorse $1,000 per jar night cream or swoon all over glitter body lotion because someone gave it to me for free or paid me to say something nice about it. On occasion I do receive samples from companies but I use the whole thing before passing judgment and only if I really do love it (to the point where I would buy a full size with my own money), would I consider writing about it. So with a pinch of real I thought it was about time to share my current beauty favorites, six products I am currently loving.
Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick No. 37: I have been searching for a pigmented lipstick that is high gloss but is acceptable for everyday wear for months and finally found this shade in the fall. It is called Sweet Dreams and is described as rosy brown with iridescent shimmer. While I don’t quite agree with the color description I love the shade and the price – only $12 – and it definitely provides a great pop of pink with a rich, glossy shine.
Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer: This has been my go-to concealer for years with the winning combination of a smooth, easy to apply formula and some serious full coverage full coverage. Depending on my tan I toggle back and forth between shades 01 Light and 02 Light / Medium and I use it daily both as an under eye concealer and to hide any spots.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion: In high school I was all about rimming my eyes in dark pencil for high school dances especially since I was not allowed to wear noticeable makeup to my all girls high school and it did not make sense to put it on for swim practice (hello raccoon eyes). I first found this liner sophomore year of high school and purchased it a few times before finding another I loved. Fast-forward nearly a decade and while I had not used this eyeliner in years and I decided to give it another try purchased it on my most recent trip to Sephora. Why did I ever stop using this? It is great! The color perversion is the brand’s matte blackest black and this waterproof formula definitely does not budge.

I may need to try that eyelash stuff, I have never used an eyelash serum but I’ve always wanted to lengthen my lashes! Thanks for sharing “real” loves, I love Sephora lipstick for an affordable stick!
