The Skinny on Mesh Activewear

01/28/16 | Fashion and Style

When you got to fancy workout classes in New York City you are going to see all types of people wearing everything imaginable.  You have the housewives in their massive diamonds, full face of makeup, and blown out hair going through the motions and never breaking a sweat and on the other side you have girls in high school t-shirts going all out, and everything in between.  You can usually find me in a tank, capri leggings, and Nike sneakers giving 100% but as I look around these classes one of the biggest things I have been noticed is mesh activewear.

No what on Earth is mesh activewear?  Think cutouts but instead of bare skin showing the fabric is translucent.  Mesh tops have been around for a while, especially in racerback tanks for sports like tennis, but mesh bottoms are all the rage. Between bootcamp, spinning, Pilates, and Crossfit in the last month I have seen mesh shorts that cover barely anything, adorable capris, constricting looking leggings and compression tights all with chic mesh details. And since nothing helps you stick to your workout goals like cute clothes, here ten options for mesh activewear bottoms:

Mesh is such a nice option for breathability and some cool fabric mixing!

I bought a pair from Lululemon and can’t stop wearing them! I love dressing them up with a leather jacket too! Great picks!

Nike has a pair of mesh running tights that are SO CUTE, I usually cringe buying Lululemon yoga pants cause I don’t like to spend too much on work out clothes, but I agree, maybe some cute new clothes would be motivating!
