Favorite Holiday Drinks

My “real” friends often tell me they do not feel the love.  I feature other bloggers as my Style Icons or on my blog love list and often neglect those I have known years longer than any blogger. Some friends and family members get this blog everyday by email but it seems to be those friends who only come across Sparkles and Shoes occasionally see it when I share it on my personal Facebook.  I actually even got yelled at for going on a blate instead of a regular brunch.

Well guys, this is for you.  Thank you for dealing with me bombarding you. Without further ado, my “real” friends favorite holiday drinks.  Ps. For the record, bloggers are much better at responding to questions that my friends through g-chat:

The top row is filled with the drinks I thought everyone would say, the “classic” holiday drinks: Mallory said hot chocolate, S picked champagne, and and Dasha chose eggnog.  The next row, those threw me for a loop.  Courtlyn’s favorite is the Grinch (Midori, lemon juice, and simple syrup), Mary’s is a Dark and Stormy (ginger beer and rum), and Kathryn’s – well, this actually did not come as a surprise – tequila shots.

Then I asked the guys.  These were way more entertaining.The boys answers were really across the board and very few gave me ONE answer. Silly boys.

So it turns out Dave likes his cider spiked*, my brother Kevin said whiskey neat (for the record, no where near a holiday drink), and Trevor said spiced cider.   I guess I should have been more specific when I asked for “favorite holiday drink” because Chris said pumpkin beer which is definitely more of a Halloween thing, Peter said mulled wine, and Ryan said Molly’s Irish Cream.  These answers were a lot hard to get from the guys – they were so indecisive. The most frustrating answer? “I don’t have one.  I go with anything.”  Thanks M.

* Dave actually responded, “Eggnog is good, spiked hot cider, or just hot cider….well I guess I can’t say no to hot chocolate either.  I LIKE THEM ALL KELLY. WHAT DO U WANT FROM ME.”
