Today officially marks one week until Christmas – how has this holiday season gone by so fast? As you might remember from my Oreo Cookie Balls, I like simple recipes. That one had five ingredients and this one, only three. I can not take credit for it, I found it on Pinterest but I did make it – and not out a box – so that should count for something!
Over Thanksgiving I made this Cranberry Pomegranate Sauce and it was DELICIOUS. The recipe actually called it relish but I do not like relish and this is nothing like it so I am going to rename it sauce. Here are the simple, easy steps and the three ingredients!
Place the cranberries, pomegranates and sugar in a saucepan large enough to accommodate all the ingredients. Turn the heat on to medium-low and stir the ingredients to incorporate and dissolve the sugar. Cover the saucepan partially with a lid {I do this because once the cranberries start to cook down, they will begin spurting their juices}. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and stir occasionally until the mixture is reduced slightly and the cranberries have cooked down and softened, about 30 minutes. Transfer the sauce to a heat-safe bowl and cool completely to room temperature before serving or refrigerating. If refrigerating, bring the sauce back to room temperature before serving.
and the kind that came out of the can!

This sounds awesome and I’d love to make it but umm, I’m allergic to pomegranate or “devil fruit” as I now call it! Glad everyone liked it though!

I made cranberry sauce years ago, but this looks to die for. How have I never thought of this. Incredible, can’t wait to try this. Thanks 🙂

This sounds like it would be good all year around. But why do pomegranates have to be such a pain in the ass to get the seeds?!
