Tomorrow is the first day of summer! While this is very exciting news it is crazy how fast the time has gone. I feel like just yesterday I was in printed pants and a sweater writing my New Year’s Resolutions and now we are almost half way through the year! As the entire country is heating up and gearing for summer I printed short are one of the best ways to stay cool and stylish.
WIth patterned bottoms I say let the shorts do the work!
I would pair them with a plain tee, a pair of Jack Rogers, a Longchamp tote, and pearl studs!
I generally pick a sundress over shorts but sometimes having pockets and a more nimble outfit can be better. I am in love with all of the pattered shorts that are available this season, here are nine of my favorites:

I’m on the hunt for patterned shorts. I was in Loft over the weekend and they had tons of adorable pairs on sale. Of course none were in my size. Also, my biggest issue with shorts is their length. I have thick thighs so those 3″ ride like crazy. I need 5″ but almost no one has them, except Old Navy. And bermuda shorts look terrible on me.

I totally agree to do a plain top with patterned short. I will usually choose a dress over shorts, too. I can’t ever find shorts that fit right. My favorite pair of shorts right now is a pair I cut off from jeans that I didn’t like anymore. They fit perfectly. 🙂
