Food & The City: Union Square Farmers Market

06/19/13 | Delicious Eats, Food and The City, New York City

The Union Square Farmer’s Market is one of my favorite things about the warmer weather in New York City. You saw last week on my Instagram this photo, but let me tell you a bit more about it:
The blonde you will see in these photos is my good friend S.  S and I used to swim together in college and you have also seen her around the blog, here and here.  I went with S to the farmer’s market Saturday afternoon post – workout to pick up some great veggies to juice.  We had a phenomenal time laughing, shopping, picking out produce and as S said, “it is nice to be able to get organic, garden fresh produce in the middle of New York City. ”  I completely agree, here are few of my favorite shots I took (except the one’s I am in) of the stalls and wares for sale in various stalls:
The North West corner of Union Square Park is less than a mile away from my apartment and is a truly unique piece of New York City.  You can sit and play chess with an champion, get your palm read, or watch a terrific street performer.  Here are a few shots around the park on the day of the farmer’s market:
Do you have a local farmer’s market that you frequent?
