It is unusual for Sparkles & Shoes to have a post on a Saturday but today is an exception. Every year on April 22nd and since 1970 it has been growing, this year the cause’s main website earthday.org is estimating more than 1 billion people will participate in a wide range of events across more than 190 countries. While my in-laws participated in a climate march yesterday I am acknowledging this day in a different way. Here is a round up of brands with a commitment to the environment whether measuring and offsetting their carbon footprint, limiting carbon dioxide emissions, water usage and waste produced, or engaging in other philanthropic efforts. Here are my top picks for sustainable shopping:

If none of these suit your fancy Target currently has 114 Earth Week offers as part of their circle offers which you can find here! And if shopping isn’t your things (though that’s likely the minority of Sparkles & Shoes readers) I highly recommend the David Attenborough nature series’ on Netflix and the BBC as they bring attention to the cause in an absolutely stunning way!
How are you celebrating Earth Day? And what are your favorite sustainable shopping brands?

Love the not your mother’s dress. I just ordered it and I hope that I look half as good as the model does.
So glad that we as a world are focusing on where we are sourcing what we buy and can make an educated decision.
So good of you to help us decide where we buy.

Perfect blog post. Sustainable Shopping on Earth Day is such an important message to get out and if everyone took a bit more time to think about how and where they are acquiring goods and the carbon footprint of things the world would be a much better place.
Thanks so much for featuring so many wonderful ways to make an impactful purchasing decision.
As an aside that bikini is to die for.
