Welcome to the latest edition of Wedding Wednesday! As I am more than half way through third trimester everything is starting to slow down including my motivation to do most things with the exception of nesting. I am determined to get our flat into a perfect state for the arrival of baby girl and we are moving around a ton of art as part of this. Last year I did have a number of portraits from our wedding framed and one of my favorites, the last photo in this post, is one of them. There are so many things I love about the shot but today I am going to talk about one element – my shoes!
When picking out my wedding footwear I felt quite a bit of pressure and I knew there would be, heck, I write a blog called Sparkles and Shoes for goodness sakes. However, I did have very specific criteria that narrowed down the search for me and the first was we were getting married on grass. This meant stilettos of any kind were out because worse than tripping down the aisle might be sinking and actually getting stuck. So with thin heels as a no-go and the idea of flats out of the question it was between a wedge and a block heel. I tried on what must have been at least 20 pairs of bridal shoes from $39 to $899 before I decided on these beauties – the Badgley Mischka Collection Ever After Embellished Sandals. Essentially the best pair of block heel bridal shoes I found, take a look:
They are described as having crystals that twinkle which were a fun sparkle element that complemented the beads on the top of my dress but the tall half-moon heel was really the key for me. I had been worried that in addition to the grass that the whole bottom of my dress was lace which meant I needed to get shoes that would not catch on them but these ended up working out well! I decided to go with a white pedicure to really help stick with the bridal theme and you can see them in various photos below:
What do you think of my block heel bridal shoes?

So lovely to relive your gorgous wedding, the perfect dress on you and now I see the perfect shoes too… those sure are sparkly and very pretty.
You were such a beautiful bride and I am sure you treasure those photos to relive your magical day.

Those are lovely killer pair of wedding high heel sandals. Those shoes are a keeper for a lifetime. As for you wearing heels I bet you can’t wait to wear them again after the baby is born. I think that is why you are posting this now. (:) My younger sister gave birth recently and she could not wait to start wearing heels again. She waited about 6 weeks and wore her heels for the 1st time Saturday night. She handled them well for about 2 hours of dancing. Then she had to go back to sneakers for now. She goes back to work next week. Slowing working her way back into heels. As for me my work outfit today is a sweater dress with my favorite high heel open toe bootie. Work boyfriend fully approves.

I think they are stunning and you look like a million dollars.
I’m sure the block heel let you be a little bit steadier during your photos and for the dancing.
