Happy Friday and Merry Christmas Eve! 2021 has been a year like none other but it is exciting we get to end it celebrating the holidays and here in England, in a much better way than last year! Mark and I are currently in Derbyshire, where he is from, to spend Christmas and Boxing Day with his family but last weekend, we went on an adventure. Adventure may actually be a bit much but we have a long list of things we want to do and places we want to go in London and we crossed one off on Sunday.
We have gone to Borough Market, a fresh food market just south of the River Thames in Southwark, a handful of times but this was our first Sunday roast at Roast. Mark had been for breakfast years ago with coworkers and I had never been so it was a great experience for both of us. As it was a cold and misty day filled with a lot of walking I chose a practical outfit but a black and white look with a festive scarf makes for a holiday look, no?
This scarf we purchased over the Summer on our trip to Edinburgh and while I hate cold weather I am happy that it is now seasonally appropriate to wear it. Take a look at a handful of shots both outside the market, at the front of the restaurant, and inside the vestibule of this layered Borough Market outfit :
Jacket | Ted Baker Belted Wool Coat. Sweater | Uniqlo Premium Lambswool Crew Neck Jumper
Scarf | J.Crew Wool-Blend Red Tartan Scarf (similar) Headband | Claire’s Velvet & Gold Braided Headband (UK version)
Jeans | FRAME Women’s Le Original High Waist Slim Straight Leg Jeans
Bag | Strathberry Midi Calfskin Leather Tote (similar) Nails | Kiss imPress Nails in ‘No Other’
Flats | Office Flick Retro Tassel Loafers in Black Leather
While it is Fashion Friday and this is all about my look I do have to say, the food was delicious! Mark and I both opted for the classic Christmas dish – Roast Breast of Norfolk Bronze Turkey which was served with all the trimmings. And trust me, there were a ton – Pigs in Blankets, Sage and Onion Stuffing, Roast Potatoes, Cabbage, Honey & Thyme Roasted Root Vegetables, and Yorkshire Pudding! You can see the full menu on their website.
What do you think of this Borough Market outfit?

Perfect outfit for sight seeing on a cold day.
Love the rain coat, trench coat or whatever you call it….I need to upgrade some of my coats, they are getting a bit frumpy with wear!
Sally says
That scarf is a real winner.
Just the right color red and the pop of color is great with the coat and without just on your purse.
So perfect.

Merry Christmas to you and Mark. I wish it was Merry for us but boyfriend has a 103 fever. No family travel for us. I got sick Monday at the Edge in NYC. Speaking of that it was awesome there. I got boyfriend sick and he is not even upset at me. Too understanding. I am more mad that he is. I just hope it’s not Covid. We will know tomorrow.
