In a year where I tried not to buy a ton of stuff I would say I did not succeed greatly but that’s not the point of today’s post – here are the best things that I did buy. Last year I shared my 20 Best Purchases of 2020 and this year I am doing something similar with two caveats. The first, many of those items are still favourites this year and second, 21 would be a bit much to match this year. Thus, I am bringing you a handful of favorites:
1 | Levi’s Women’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans – When London Lockdown started to ease up this Spring and we were actually allowed to start meeting poeple outside I did an Amazon Wardrobe order and of the half dozen pairs of jeans I ordered these were a clear winner. I just checked and they are currently 50% off Nordstrom making them less than $50 which I am quite jealous about as I paid much more!
2 | BAGSMART Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag – I picked this out as a gift from my grandmother and it has been absolutely clutch. It has already been to Croatia, Charleston, Naples, the Bahamas, Cambridge and more and this make me think I really should do a full post on it soon!.
3 | Ted Baker Rosess Belted Wool Blend Coat As I mentioned in my Black Friday post last month I had needed a new coat for a bit over a year and though it was more than I wanted to pay this coat really was an excellent purchase – especially when it was on sale!
4 | Ornavo Modern Round Velvet Ottoman – Our living room has been reconfigured many times but with our l-shape couches we have fond this foot rest which doubles as a mini storage unit (it really only holds coasters and napkins) has been perfect. As our sofas are yellow and grey it was the navy was the perfect fit thought it comes in half a dozen other colors. perfect navy combination.
5 | Nespresso Vertuo Chrome by Breville nearly two years of being at home has seen me try so many different coffee options and while I wish i had been someone with enough patience to french press everyday, alas, I am not so this machine with its dozens of flavoured capsule is perfect. (currently 20% off at Target)
6 | TP-Link Tapo Smart Plug. I had held off on buying smart plugs for our home because our overhead lights are not compatible but at the start of the year during a sale got these wireless outlets that work with our Google home system. We started with two and now have seven!
7 | Beauty Pie Superluminous Undereye Genius Concealer Even on a “no makeup day” I put concealer on because regardless of how long I slept I always have bags under my eyes. I shared this in my Best of Beauty Pie post but this concealer is a new fave. I use the medium as a summer shade and sadly now using fair in Winter.
8 | The Drowsy Midnight Blue Silk Sleep Mask – I sleep with an eye-mask every evening and recently I started getting Instagram adds for this one. I already have a few but this one speaks to me with its total black-out design, silk covering that is washable, and that it blocks out noise too!
A few that did not make the list above – my Merrell Women’S Moab 2 Gtx Low Rise Hiking Shoes which I wear on our hikes and also on muddy country walks. We also got the Blueair Blue Pure 411 Air Purifier which with HEPASilent Technology removes all sorts of impurities and helps our home gym smell, well, not like a gym. Since we have the light blue color the outlet is simply called “blue” on our smart home and lives next to the peloton bike.
From 2020 list I still wear my Apple Watch Series 6 everyday, still love my Retro Tassel Loafers – so much I also got a pair in black – ad the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer really is a life saver. And as an extra bonus, still love the Christian Louboutin Pillage Plato 120 in Black Patent Leather pumps from my 2019 list – I wore them to Christmas dinner on Saturday!
