Swimming has always been my thing but in the last 10 years it has been nice to grab a bikini to go to a pool instead of a one piece and a swimming cap. I went swimming nearly every day I was in Madeira over the Summer but the best place I went in the water was in this lava pool. In Portuguese the name is Piscinas Naturais Velhas, translated it means Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, and it was a very cool experience.
I went on a full day tour with a company which I found through AirBnB Experiences. You know this stop is a highlight when it is literally in the name of the tour Skywalk & Porto Moniz Lava Pools. The thing I found most fascinating is that while these natural swimming pools were formed by volcanic lava the sea water in them is crystal clear. Even though I visited in the height of Summer the water was absolutely freezing (it is around 20º C or 68º F year round) and I could not even get in the water past my belly button. The admission fee is only 1,50€ which gives you access the the pool, grounds, and changing rooms. Sun lounges and umbrellas are available for an extra fee but I did not stay long enough to need one. Take a look at this gorgeous pool which is open year round:
This bikini is one of my favorites, in fact I just ordered two more in the Black Friday sale and it is less than $20 – you can find it here! And while Sparkles & Shoes hates videos in case you missed the Reel I posted on Instagram when I was there in July take a look:
Would you want to go to the Madeira lava pools?

Happy belated Thanksgiving to you. Madeira is another place that boyfriend and I would love to visit. Anywhere where it’s not too crowded is perfect for me. I love your baby blue bikini. This week I am in Tampa to visit my family and it was warm enough to go swimming for Thanksgiving and black Friday. Boyfriend called it red Friday because the stock market tanked. Thus I had to make him feel better with styling a micro g string pink bikini for him. He was so happy that we didn’t even make it out of the bed room for an hour. It was super easy to get him in a red Speedo after that. Our friends loved the look on both of us. I have one more treat for him before I leave next Wednesday if the weather is warm enough for bikinis. Central Florida is in a cool spell again.

Ohhh my god you look like a rock hard body coming out of that pool.
All that COVID peloton certainly paid off Kelly.
