If you follow me on Instagram you have seen selfies and boomerangs of my black tears on stories but it’s not because I am sad. I often workout in the evening and rarely take off my makeup before so a good sweat leads to makeup running down my face. And sometimes a good sweat, shower, and scrub still does not get it all of my waterproof mascara and eyeliner off. Enter makeup wipes! I have been a fan of these for years and have written about them many times. And until last month I thought my trusty wipes were getting all the makeup off but getting a white silk pillow case proved me wrong.
I then went down an Internet rabbit hole to find the best option to make sure ever speck of black was removed before bed. Dozens of highly reviewed options came up but between what products are available in the U.K. and the fact that all stores were shut my options were a bit more limited. Quite a few of these write ups, including ones from top beauty publications, recommended drugstore brands and since the only things open are the grocery store and the pharmacy I decided to give them a try. I came home with three drugstore eye makeup removers at the beginning of February and after a week of testing each, am quite impressed.

For me they all worked but the cap of the Garnier and Simple ones were better as it came out in a small stream, but in a pinch, grab any of them! As you can see I opted for small bottles of these drugstore eye makeup removers (125ml is about 4 oz) as I wanted to find which one worked for me before I bought the larger size. In England all three of these are avlaible at Boots and in the U.S. it looks like Target and Walmart carry the Garnier one.
Have you tried any drugstore eye makeup removers?

I know this is about the eye make up remover is, but please tell me more about the silk pillowcase.
Looks like it would be wonderful to sleep on. Just like a princess.

These products sound great, I will have to check them out because like you I usually use the wipes.
My friend uses tissues and then Q-tips but I don’t think that they do as good of a job.

My eye doctor recommended the Ocusoft lid scrub to remove my eye makeup. She said that other lotion/oil based products that I was using was blocking some of my tear ducts leading to dry eye.
Really interesting so that is my recommendation for your readers.

I have been using the Garnier one for years and absolutely love it, though I also use the blue one.
