I hope you are all enjoying my pictures from St. Lucia that I have been sharing on Instagram! It is so nice to be on our first vacation in five months and take a step back from work and our normal day-to-day. Plus, as much as I really do like our London apartment I have spent so much time there since we moved in at the start of March it is great to have a change of scenery, especially for more than just a weekend!
Ironically, that said, I want to show you one of my best warm weather purchases of 2020 which I shot on the deck of my flat. This soft, lightweight kaftan is made from a great cotton gauze and the loose fit always for when a breeze comes along. When I have a break I usually sit and read on my balcony but if I stop to have lunch with Mark or need to answer the door (so many deliveries) it is always good to have a cover up ready. And do not even get me started with the British temperamental weather… a big gust can make a warm day quite chilly so layers are key!

And yes, I have a large number of books I have been slowly chipping away at. A few weeks ago, when I shot these photos, I was finishing up The Dressmaker’s Gift which I really enjoyed and I have half a dozen on deck including When We Believed in Mermaids and Everything I Never Told You. Two I have I recently finished – Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah , which I enjoyed, Little Fires Everywhere which despite the hype and rave reviews from friends, I was not a fan). Lastly, I am jealous of all of you as this beach kaftan was originally £32 and now on sale for only a third of that!
What do you think of this beach kaftan?
