As much as I hate to admit it, Fall is coming. One of the things about moving to London I have noticed as my second September gets underway is that it gets much colder, much sooner here. And to help cheer those blues my birthday countdown is still on (September 27th in case you missed the memo) and I am gearing up for London and Milan Fashion Weeks.
Speaking of fashion, last season we saw pleated skirts on the runway for this season from Fendi, Proenza Schouler, Valentino, Christian Dior, Tod’s, and more. However, based on my last reader survey for the most part those brands are out of most of your price range (and mine too). But that’s why you are here, I am guessing, because I took the leg work out of the shopping for you and pulled together more affordable options you can shop right now to help bring the runway to life . The kind of look I am talking about?

Hopefully you see what I mean, a gorgeous option with great movement and that is not going to be close to the same price as your monthly rent. Oh, and this is not the first time I have written about the topic, back in February 2016 I shared all of Princess Kate’s best pleated dresses but this is a bit different! I had originally planned to separate my favorite solid pleated skirt options from those patterned ones but who am I to make that distinction? Take a look at my roundup of reasonable options:
1 | J. Crew Pleated midi skirt in Academic Green
2 | Uniqlo Women Pleated Maxi in Light Blue
3 | ASOS DESIGN Petite pleated midi skirt
4 | SHEIN Pleated Elastic Waist Skirt
5 | Bold Graphic Print Pleated Skirt
6 | SHEIN High Waist Pleated Glitter Skirt
7| DKNY Pleated sKirt in BLush
8 | Green Pleated Satin Midi Skirt
9 | Dafna May Pleated Skirt in Black / White
10 | M&S COLLECTION Pleated Midi Skirt in Claret
11 | Oasis Pleated Skirt in Lime green
12 | J. Crew Pleated midi skirt in shadow floral
To finish this round up as an honorable mention because it was certainly borderline but as it is more of skater skirt style than a pleat, this Royal Blue Floral Printed Skater Skirt. In addition, this Stella Jean Gonna Printed Pleated Skirt because while pleated is in the name that detailing only appears in the flat lay, not in any of the shots of it actually being worn so while pretty, did not make this specific cut.
And then as an ultimate splurge I really like this option from Loewe but more than $725 for a neon orange statement piece? That will be a lustful pass for me! And the same goes for this metallic Marini number which will set you back over $1,500 – gorgeous but a bit too rich for my wallet!
What do you think of pleated skirts?

Pleated skirts are cute! I think they’re extremely playful yet can be super sophisticated. These are great options you’ve compiled here!

So glad that I hung on to one of my favorite pieces. I have a beautiful lilac pleated skirt that always makes me feel so pretty when I put it on.
I give it the extra swish whenever I can and it puts a smile on my face and spring in my step.

I really like pleated skirts especially if I have somewhere to go where I can twirl a bit.
I really DON”T like them paired with sneakers. To me it takes away from the whole look. I get not wanting to wear tall heels if it is going to be a long day but really, some kitten heels or a little wedge would go a long way to a much better look…
