Okay, first thing first, happy freaking Friday. My favorite day of the week has arrived and this one could not come fast enough. Second, one thing that irks me frequently, yes, Kate Middleton really is a princess. This comes up frequently in conversation because the press and even the Royal Palace call her Catherine Duchess of Cambridge but she really is a princess. And yes, this is a very important matter to me. Apparently Duchess of Cambridge is actually more “impressive” of a title than princess but I disagree and to shut it down once and for all I will turned to me beloved People Magazine who let us know, “On the register of Prince George’s birth, Catherine has the fairy tale-sounding title, “Princess of the United Kingdom”. Well there we go.
I have been a fan of Kate Middleton for years, not necessarily as far back as her modeling days, but at least since the Royal Engagement. In fact, she was one of my first style icons on Sparkles and Shoes in 2012 and my love for her impeccable attire has only grown with time. And I must say, she has one of the world’s most enviable wardrobes. Every time I get an update on her latest outfit E! News or from Pinterest fan pages they are swoon worthy. One trend I have been noticing over and over again is the princess’ love of pleated skirts:
And then because they are just about the cutest couple with two of the most adorable children – Kate, pretty in pleated pink, with Prince William. And that alteration did not go unnoticed. And for good measure, another cute shot of them with the Princess in white eyelet.
I am holding off on buying new clothes until my fitness journey is complete but pleated skirts have been on my radar. If everything works out the way I have planned it the weight loss portion of my journey will be done by the time Spring rolls around and I can purchase a few pleated skirts for the season!
