The last time we spoke about safari I shared with you some of my favoirte shots of The Lions of the Serengeti but there are some other amazing creatures in this Tanzanian National Park that I also want to share. Besides it being a lush climate and the dry season not having fully started I would credit our great animal sightings to the fact that we went on both morning and afternoon game drives so we could see a variety of animals at their usual times. Sightings included lions (which got their own post), zebras, hyenas, leopards, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, jackals, gazelles, and giraffes. Take a look at some of my favorite shots!
Over the course of our visits to Kenya and Tanzania we visited half a dozen national parks across the two countries and more than any other park on the trip we saw a ton of giraffe in the Serengeti. Take a look at my some of the close ups I was able to capture:
And while they are not the best photos we did get to see two leopards in a tree – one of the only ones around – who were poised for hunting. It was beautiful to see them gracefully leap out of the tree at a split second’s notice but then we lost it in the high grass. But still really cool to see it in the trees!
Which of these animals is your favorite?

Hmm. It’s so hard for me to pick just one. It makes me so happy to see so many of these animals thriving in the wild and so glad that places are doing a good job protecting them. It’s on my bucket list to do a safari one day. For now I have to live through your photos.

The giraffe photos are my favorite by far. Whenever I go to the zoo they are the first animal I always run to go and see. I can’t imagine how spectacular it is to see them in the wild.
How close did you get to them?

The little ears on those hippos are too cute.
Great photos of your adventures.
