Yesterday I saw one of my friends post a picture from Santorini on Instagram and I almost died of jealousy. It also reminded me that I had not done a Past Adventures post since January and I have so many more adventures to share! A few summers ago I spent one day on the gorgeous Greek Isle of Santorini and would go back in a heart beat.
I visited with my family while on a Mediterranean cruise and approaching the island from the water is absolutely breathtaking. Once you dock you have two options to get up the hillside to the main town, you can take the gondola lift or you can ride a donkey up the switchbacks. We obviously chose the donkeys. Taking a look back at my photos it is not hard to understand why the island, 120 miles SouthEast of Greece’s mainland, is famous for dramatic views, stunning sunsets, and blue domes. Here are my favorite shots:
And while this is far from my favorite photo, I really felt like I had to include one of me,
just prove I was there! (please ignore the REALLY cool backpack)
Greece, I miss you and hope to visit again soon!

I would have to agree with you that Santorini has a breathtaking view. I love the sunset, food and view there. Though, our hotel was kind of crappy for a 5 star but everything else made up the trip =)

Those donkeys are so cute!
So beautiful! Greece has been #1 on my list for a while but it hasn’t really worked out just yet. We’ve gone to some awesome places but I won’t be fully satisfied until I make it there.
I kinda hate you right now…I kid, I kid, but seriously, Greece is number one on my travel list!
