Easy Cocktails with Only Two Ingredients

The first two months of the year might be the worst – it is cold, dark, and the holidays are over.  But instead of getting the blues I make plans! This year I have already been to Florida, Paris, Washington D.C., Boston, and Atlanta with a few more trips on the books but I am trying to also spend time at home in New York City! In a city with thousands of places to eat and drink believe it or not my preferred place to hangout with friends this time of year is at an apartment – it is warm, comfortable, and you’re surrounded by only the people you want to see.  But the thing is, when it is cold I don’t love having to run to half a dozen different stores to find what I need to throw a little get together.  Luckily I recently I figured out an easy hack – buy everything I need and then spike the drinks at home!

For instance there is a Wendy’s on the way home from my gym (which is dangerous because Frosty’s, yum) and recently I stopped by to pick up a few of the Wendy’s Signature Beverages because I knew friends were coming over and they make the perfect mix for cocktails mixed with vodka or rum.  This Wendy’s location is constantly busy as it is across the street from the Empire State Building on 5th Avenue but the line moved quickly and I was able to get in and out.  

Then once home I made two different drinks  – Strawberry Passionfruit FruiTea Chillers® with Bacardi Limon and Wendy’s Signature All Natural Lemonade I mixed it with Grey Goose Original this way when my friends arrived they could pick the drink they liked best (and some tried both).   

Strawberry Passionfruit FruiTea Chillers®  is a combination of organic Honest® Tropical Green Tea mixed with real strawberry passion fruit flavored juice which paired nicely with the BACARDI, my preferred rum and actually the most awarded rum – proof I have good taste.  The other drink, which I chose to garnish with fresh lemon did not need much as the All-Natural Lemonade already tasted great with it’s real cane sugar so I just added original Grey Goose Vodka and with it’s French ingredients (can you tell I am still on a France kick?) and it was the perfect combination!

And yes, that is a I Love New York shot glass because it is always good to make sure you are in control of how much you are drinking and I always have to rep my home state.  To finish it off and because what is a drink without food I also picked up Chicken Tenders and paired it with a unique whole grain mustard which was a BIG hit!

There are many things in New York City that I know many of you can not replicate at home; museums, fashion week, or the photo shoot locations, but since the Signature Drinks are available at Wendy’s, and only Wendy’s, nationwide you can make these delicious drinks too – plus you can’t go wrong with two easy ingredients!  You can find the closest Wendy’s to you here.
