It really is the season of leather and velvet and today I want to chat about the later. While dating is still the one thing I will never get into much in Sparkles and Shoes it should not come as a surprise that I go on dates. If we are friends in real life you will know some of those go quite well and others, while they crash and burn, make for good stories. None the less dressing for date night, especially if it is the third or fifth date, is always fun and I recently picked up this blue velvet romper which I I love paired with a pop of red lipstick, especially as it gets chilly!
Before the temperature dipped to freezing – it is going to be 32 on Saturday, brrr – this was a good Fall date night look. I love velvet for the season and it is an added bonus keeps you warm so you can have a bit of skin showing. And yes, while this look is short the built in shorts of the romper make sure nothing inappropriate happens and I love the pop of color that the earrings and lipstick offer – everything is linked below! And a big shout out to my Mom for holding it together while shooting this outfit – you better believe on a Sunday morning we got more than a few looks on the Upper East Side from all of the families out for a stroll while I was dressed like this – this blue velvet romper is definitely more of a downtown and nighttime look, wouldn’t you agree?

What a perfect date night outfit for a warmer winter night. Not for our anniversary which was Friday because it was way too cold. Instead it was jeans, sneakers, and puffy jacket. Outfit I had planned had to be reserved for another day. Boyfriend toughed out flu because he didn’t want to ruin our anniversary dinner. Now I have it too. Boyfriend would love your kind outfit on me. Love the tall high heel boots too.

The romper looks so soft and I bet you would get a lot of hugs on your date. Is it as soft as it looks.
The look with the boots is great too. Happy dating!
