One of my favorite parts of about being a blogger is being able to attend some pretty incredible industry events. In the last two weeks, as you may have seen on Instagram, I had a morning of makeup and an evening of hair. Last week I attended the Zyrtec Allergy Face Spring Kickoff morning at the Gramercy Park Hotel and had a wonderful, action packed morning. I am glad I arrived right on time as I was one of the first ten people who had the chance to hear from the gorgeous Jordana Brewster and her makeup artist Jamie Greenberg.
The Fast and Furious actress talked about her experiences with allergies and how she combats them, especially when she is on set, and then I had the chance to have one of Jamie’s three makeup looks applied while sipping on coffee and enjoying delicious bites. Everything aspect from the penthouse location to the baby avocado toast was classy and beautifully done. Not only did I have a great morning but I went home with a few samples and a gift card to the new beGlammed app and I will be sure to let yow know when I use it!
Switching from makeup to hair I also had the chance to attend the launch of Martino Cartier‘s line at Ricky‘s in Union Square two weeks ago. Martino is not only a hair stylist but also owns two salons in New Jersey and brought his entire team of 20+ gorgeous ladies to celebrate this product launch. The words champagne and cupcakes are always a positive in my book and it both were available right when you walked in the door of the 14th street location. While his team was busy creating looks Martino was enthusiastically greeting fans and filming clips for the pilot of his new TV show but I was thrilled when he took the time out to dry style my hair.
I knew that I would have a chance to meet Martino and brought my friend Christina along to help with photos but I did not know I was one of only three people who had the chance to have their hair touched up by the master himself. We chatted the entire time as he put gorgeous curls in my hair, pinned them up while they were hot, let them sit, and then sprayed away to create volume and style for days. I loved how the hair spray from his new line smelled and was thrilled to go home with a can of that and his new dry shampoo called Talk Dirty to Me – thanks Mario, you were a doll!
All of the vertical photos are directly taken from Snapchat or Instastories when I was posting live from the events so make sure you are following along (username kellydonlin on both) to make sure you do not miss out! Both events were so much fun and I love that Sparkles and Shoes allows me opportunities like this in New York City!

Can’t wait to hear about your experience with beGlammed! Also so tempted to pick up that hairspray from Martino. I’m a sucker for a great smelling hairspray.
I’d love to know what color you have on your nails in the first picture. It is absolutely beautiful.
Looking forward to more posts!
