Thank you for all of your feedback last week when I asked which of my blog series you enjoyed the most. I was pleasantly surprised that the overwhelming response was for my Food in New York City posts which I am more than happy to bring you (especially if it gives me a reason to eat out more!)
I LOVE BECCO. The name Becco is means to peck or nibble but at Becco I devour. Lidia Bastianich and her son, Joe, opened this amazing eatery 18 years ago and it is still serving amazing food on Restaurant Row in the Theater District. Let me walk you through why I love Becco, accompanied by photos from my latest visit.
They also have this $25 wine list which in Midtown Manhattan is unheard of! The wine sommelier is only too willing to helo you find a wine from the dozens of Italian bottles that are sure to delight.
My favorite thing at Becco is their special called the Sinfonia di Paste. You start with an amazing Insalata Cesare “Becco’s version of the classic Caesar salad” and then my favorite, “Our renowned, unlimited table side service of Executive Chef William Gallagher’s Three Daily Pasta Preparations”. I have had this special at least a dozen times and it has never disappointed.
How can you beat that? The pasta’s are absolutely incredible. When I celebrated my birthday at Becco one of the pastas they had was Mushroom Ravioli with Truffle Butter and Fresh Sage made with Shiitake, Crimini nad Portobello mushrooms, yum! The time before that I am pretty sure it was something along the lines of fettuccine with porchetta, mushrooms, peas, and olive oil. And of course, they are on Open Table.
If you do not want that, they have other options that I have never heard anything less than stellar reviews about including their salmon entree and this fish special my friend O got:
Oh, and as an added bonus, I ran into the owner, Joe Bastianich, last year when I was dining with my friend Kortney! Kort was visiting from Utah and when she visited in the fall to celebrate my birthday and go shopping with me I just HAD to take her to my favorite NYC hotspot!

Do you have a favorite restaurant?

There are too many amazing restaurants in SF to play favorites. I’m terrible at picking just one or even two!

I have been to Becco and it is most delish!!
One of my fav restaurants is Blue Smoke which has a great BBQ menu but it more upscale. They also have some lemonade alcohol drink that is sooo good.

I have been to Becco twice while in New York and it was amazing! My biggest regret was not just going for a bottle of wine though. We were trying to budget, but $25 for a bottle of wine at a restaurant!
