Welcome back to my first makeup post in quite some time and I am excited to get back into it! I have been trying a ton of new products lately and can’t wait to share my thoughts next week but first I want to share two of my favorite contour products. Recently I read an article recently that Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist is going to do less contouring in 2017 but for me, it is still one of my favorite makeup techniques and as we start the new year I have two tried and true favorites – both upgrades from my January 2016 pick!
The first is the CLINIQUE Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour which I mentioned in this post from last Summer have been using for almost a year. I love the creamy formula which makes facial contouring and blending quite easy and the product is very buildable making it easy to go for a subtle or chiseled look, depending on my preference!
The second product is new and I picked it up before the holidays as part of the Sephora 500 Point Perk in the Smashbox Studio Lighting Secrets box. After using the sample I loved it so much I bit the bullet and went for the full size version of the Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Kit which also comes with a free brush! The colors are extremely blendable and I love how the small, compact case provides the the real trio – contour, bronze, and highlight – with a step by step map that makes it quite easy!
To give you a better sense, along with the product in the package, take a look at the swatches below of both contour products below – the two on the left are of the the Light / Medium palette from Smashbox and the top right is the Clinique chubby stick. Oh, and I am completely and utterly obsessed with this Alexis Bittar Abstract Flower Ring that I had a chance to borrow for a few days during fashion week – swoon worthy!
They are just so pretty! And since coincidentally I needed a refill of both at the same time take a look of the products with their packaging in case you are going to be headed to Sephora to pick them up yourselves! (Or they are online here or here!)
And while not in my top two I must give an honorable mention to the Sephora Collection Contour Palette because with twice as many shades and at $18 less than the Smashbox option, I know it is also a fan favorite!
What are your favorite contour products?

I use the Kat Von D palette but I love the little map on that Smashbox one!

Wow, that’s a really clever way of thinnikg about it!

I really want to try that clinique stick! It seems like it would make contouring easier!
