As I put the finishing touches on next international trip – only 38 days away but who is counting – I am also preparing to head to Utah on Friday to spend Labor Day weekend in Salt Lake City. You may recall last year for Memorial Day I flew to Utah and spent three great days (here, here, and here) and I am excited to go back for another long weekend to see my dear friend and her adorable family!
Speaking of trips within the United States I have a few more coming up – both for business and pleasure and they have got me thinking. A trip down Pinterest travel boards over the weekend and I now have a solid list of seven tripes I hope to take within the US. And lets be clear I am not suggesting a road trip to any of these places – A+ for planes and trains but a long weekend would be very welcome in any of these gorgeous spots, perhaps even a week! Here are the top seven places I want to visit:
(2) Las Vegas, Nevada: Vegas has been on the list for ages and it has just never logically made sense for a vacation. I am sure I will end up going in the next few years for a bachelorette and I hope to see one of the seven Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas (hopefully O) and it would be incredible if Britney was still there!
(3) Grand Canyon: Do I really need to say anything? Nope, but I will. Rafting down the Colorado River has been a trip on my family’s wish list for years but the timing has never worked out. We are off in March on our first international trip in seven years but hopefully we will come back to this one!
(5) Antelope Canyon in Arizona: I have seen photographs of the Lesser Canyons for years, including the gorgeous colors of Antelope Canyon, and my parents even have a photo in their house of this gorgeous spot in in northeastern Arizona. I am not a big fan of hiking but I would definitely hike here!
(7) New Orleans, Louisiana: What can I say? NoLa is a magical place. When I was in high school six girls from our sister school in Louisiana came up to Connecticut for a semester as their school had been severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Even with all of the devastation they had nothing but glowing things to say about their city and I have been wanting to go for the last 10 years – luckily enough one of my friends chose New Orleans for her bachelorette at the end of September! I will be sure to take dozens of photos of Jazz in the French Quarter, beignets, Jackson Square, and everything else we get up to!
There are many trips not listed above that I am sure many of you would have on your list including San Diego, Los Angeles or San Francisco, California, Charleston, South Carolina, Yellowstone National Park, whale watching in Cape Cod, Bar Harbor, Maine, Washington, D.C., seeing live country music in Nashville, Tennessee, any of the Hawaiian islands, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Chicago, Illinois, Disney World, Alaska, Niagara Falls, and clearly New York City but those I have been lucky enough to have crossed off.
What spot is in your domestic places to visit list?

We’ve been trying to do 1-2 US trips every year together, and I was having a hard time finding new locations that were in our budget! Charleston is up next (Jackson Hole is going to have to wait a year or two…so pricey!) but I love the idea of Savannah! My boyfriend has never really seen any part of the South at all, so naturally I am working on changing that haha. Great list!

Love all of these places! I’ve always wanted to see Las Vegas (I feel like you just *have* to), Austin and Seattle. I’d also like to go back to California a few times. I’ve been to LA and San Francisco, but I’d love to go to Napa, Big Sur and San Diego. Okay, really I’d just like to live in California. 😉
