Our day trip to Toledo was definitely one of the highlights of our Spain trip and the city was of the most beautiful, medieval, and historic places I have ever been. A visit to the former Spanish capital was recommended by a family friend and I am so happy my Mom and I decided to include it in our itinerary! I have so many photos from the day I am going to break it up into two parts and I will go in order starting with our Toledo bus tour. This tour was highly recommended by many friends and hundreds of people on Trip Advisor so off we went!
After a bit of research we decided the best way to get acclimated was to buy the one loop ticket on the popular hop-on hop-off double decker bus. We boarded and climbed to the top of the open air bus tour at the third strop on the ten-stop loop at the train station, Estacion AVE, plugged in our headphones, and spent the next hour in awe. The Toledo bus tour took us around the city walls passed the Remonte Safont, Mirador Valle, Valle – Cigarrales, Puente San Martin, Reconquista, Tavera, Alcazar, and the Puerta Bisagra before heading back to the train station. All of these famous sites were well narrated and the history lessons were broken up by regional music performed by local artists. Take a look at some of my favorite photos from our Toledo bus tour:
I have been on a handful of bus tours but this has to be my favorite one – between our excellent top row seating, the gorgeous weather, and the stunning scenery there really was no downside. To give a real sense of where we went take a look at the map I have included below of the full loop of the Toledo City Tour.
And in case you missed it, a few photos from Snapchat on that day!
Have you ever been to Toledo?

So beautiful! It is crazy to see castle like structures that still exist in today’s modern world! Great pics of what looks like a great trip 🙂
