No, no April fools joke this year! Instead I wanted to do a follow up on the 101 in 1001 list I published one year ago today – boy time is flying! In case you are not familiar, I created a list of 101 things I wanted to accomplish in next 1,001 days with the goal of crossing everything off the list by December 27th, 2016. As I am 366 days in, or just over a third of the way done, I wanted to check in and see what I have completed.
After a full year I have crossed off 25 items and I was surprised to see that I have only completed a limited number of the tasks on my list, I thought I was making such good headway! If I had been evenly pacing I would have crossed off between 35 and 36 items thus far. Here are the goals I have achieved in my first year:
1. Come up with 101 things
2. Inspire someone to write their own 101 in 1001 list
3. Switch my blog over to WordPress
13. Invest in five coffee table books
24. Learn how to give myself a full manicure
25. Clean out all of my purses
26. Throw out all my old/unused makeup
27. Buy and frame my first piece of original art
36. Eat Gluten Free for a week
44. Win a FAME or SAM award
45. Take a wine and painting class
52. Drink 100 ounces of water everyday for a week
55. Buy a lottery ticket when there’s a crazy big jackpot
65. Create a gallery wall
66. Find a skincare regime I can stick with
78. Create an online address book
80. Write a letter to myself to be opened on my 30th birthday
82. Become more knowledgeable about US Politics
83. Read the newspaper (or NYT.com) every day for one month
88. Write 10 Yelp Reviews
89. Have a drink at The Met’s Roof Garden Café and Martini Bar
91. Spend an afternoon at the Guggenheim
93. Take a walking tour of the Central Park statues
95. Donate to three different friends raising money for something
101. Master curling my hair
If you want to see details about any of these items go to the original 101 in 1001 list for more details about each item. To kickstart this task my new goal is before Labor Day, thus in the next five months, to cross off as many of these 20 items as I can:
6. Scrutinize my closet and donate, store, or toss all the things I never wear
12. Bake a cake from scratch
16. Explore Prospect Park in Brooklyn
18. Wait in line for a Cronut
21. Master a difficult yoga pose
28. Go to the top of the Empire State Building
31. Have official head shots taken
32. Attend a horse race or polo match
41. Make my bed everyday for a month
46. Go a month without buying anything on Amazon Prime
60. Make balloon paint art
64. Have a homemade picnic in Central Park
71. Read for 30 minutes before bed for one month
76. Visit The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum (planning to go during Fleet Week – May 20th)
77. See a Shakespeare in the Park production
79. Don’t swear for a whole entire day
85. Grow herbs in my kitchen
90. Take a trapeze lesson at South Street Seaport
97. Make macaroons
99. Go to a movie on the lawn at Bryant Park
As I was discussing with a friend, some of the items are much more lofty than others, like learn Spanish and get kissed in Paris, but I think these are obtainable this Spring/Summer. If any of my friends reading this want to help me cross something off, text me!
Have you ever made a 101 in 1001 list?

Macaroons are harder than it looks! Hope yours come out better than mine did!
