Photography During Family Golf

It is no secret that I do not play golf.   That is not to say I never played golf – my dad and I competed in a parent-child tournament when I was 12 and we took the top spot and a three-foot trophy.  Then I quit.  Hey, I figured, I was not going to do any better than that. 

In all seriousness, my family plays golf and I do not.  Usually I choose to go to the beach or swim laps when they go play but over Christmas I accompanied my mom, dad, and brother one afternoon for 18-holes. What did I do if I did not play golf? Well, I am glad you asked – I drove the golf cart, took photos, selfies, and cheered my dad to his best round of the year.  

 Here are my favorite shots from my attempts at golf photography and while my mom did play, she asked not to be included in the photos. The sun kept going in and out of the clouds which is why the lighting and grass change color from photo to photo but it actually was helpful to practice shooting in manual under different conditions:

As you can see, it was overcast and would not have been a great beach day anyway!
