The JetPack plugin that I have hooked up to this blog via WordPress gave me a nice shiny report at the end of December. It reported on my year of blogging with all sorts of interesting facts and statistics and I soaked them all up. One of the things I found most interesting was the most popular posts. I have a popular page and a link to it on the header of my blog and it made me realize I do not update it nearly as often as I should. These are the top five most popular posts of 2014:
(1) Enviable Ombre Perfection (2) Thursday Trend: Sequin Tank
(3) Gold Foil Tattoos (4) Thursday Trend: Silver Sequins (5) Nude Pumps
I think it is interesting that two of the top five posts of 2014 were not actually written last year, I guess a few of these posts have staying power, or good SEO! And I love the note the report gave me at end of this section, “Consider writing about those topics again.” Even though the WordPress / Jetpack report was fascinating I wanted to take a deeper look and see the most popular blog posts published in each month of 2014. Without further ado:
January: Best Dressed at the Golden Globes February: Drinking, Networking, and a Giveaway
March: Power Stylist Micaela Erlanger April: DIY Eyeshadow Palette
May: Cape Cod in Ellie Kai June: The Power of Makeup
July: You Would Have the Worst Tan Lines… August: Enviable Ombre Perfection
September: Dressing Like Olivia Pope October: NYC Wine & Food Festival and a Giveaway
November: Classic Cranberry Nut Bread December: The Plaid Blanket Scarf
Out of curiosity, if you wouldn’t mind answering this one question :
Some of these favorites surprised me and some did not,
what was your favorite Sparkles and Shoes post from 2014?

Isn’t it fascinating to see which of your blog posts are actually the most popular? I always have certain thoughts and expectations attached to posts before I put them out into the world and very often, the reception from readers is completely not what I expected!
