After a full week in Florida I thought have thought about going blonde more than once and these musings made me bump up the beautiful blonde Kate to the top of my Style Icon list. Kate Hudson is absolutely stunning and while she would most likely look like a million bucks in a paper bag her red carpet and street style are on point. She was in one of my very first blog posts, in August 2012 when I wrote about her collaboration with Ann Taylor, and in two subsequent posts – Best Dressed at the 2014 Oscars and in my 2015 Red Carpet Predictions.
I have been a big Kate fan for the last decade, in fact, I own ‘Almost Famous’ on DVD and watched it a few weeks ago – she was amazing as Penny Lane and then absolutely killed it in every single RomCom since, including my favorite, How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days. As great as her movies are, her red carpet fashion is her really crowning glory. As a fun side note, I remember in high school reading an interview Kate gave that she could not longer wear UGGs after she was on movie poster (Raising Helen) wearing the famous furry boots. True to her word, she stopped wearing them but 10 years later they are still kicking around.
Honestly, though, she has gorgeous red carpet style. I do not think she has ever been on the worst dressed list and if she was, it was probably a mistake. Here are some of my favorite Kate Hudson looks:
And I know she is a celebrity, but I feel like we would definitely be friends in real life! And just in case she was not fantastic enough, she was voted People Magazine’s celebrity role model of the year in 2014. Because honestly, if pretty wasn’t enough she is a movie star with two kids, a charity, and a clothing line.
