Gold Foil Tattoos

When I was five the best present you could get in a goodie bag was a temporary tattoo – bonus points to the birthday girl or boy if it had glitter on it.  That fad died as we grew up and then suddenly came back with a vengeance on the swim team in college – we thought temporary tats were a great accessory at big meets.  Does it make sense? No. Was it fun? Absolutely.  Again like the childhood fad, that quickly lost its appeal and I have not thought about them in years. 

Then I saw one of my favorite fashion bloggers and past style icons, Annabelle Fleur, wearing what she called a beauty mark over the weekend in this post and it re-sparked my interest  I liked her gold feather but did not think too much of it but when she still had it on in yesterday’s post I knew I just had to have it!

Hers is a bit more glitzy then any of the ones I had ever used – the site describes them as “a collection of gold, silver, or black foil designs to adorn your face and body” and looking at all of the pretty designs I was shocked that they were only $12.  True, it is a bit pricy for something temporary but with so many options these BeautyMarks – The New Makeup by Mr. Kate are just too awesome to pass up.  I have not even bought them yet or seen them in person but seriously, how cool are these?  (And no, this is not a sponsored post, I just thing they are awesome!)

    Gorgeous! I wish there were a tutorial on how to make them yourself. Does anyone know a DIY recipe for the foil?

    These foils are so cute! I think they’d be nice for a trip to a festival or theme park – any where outside really where the light would catch, as long as it’s not a professional setting.

    i do think these are so pretty but have no idea when/where i would wear them either! plus i already have 4 real tattoos…maybe it would be overkill. haha

    You know, I don’t really like tattoos (even tried henna once and wanted it OFF in 2 days!) but I LOVE these temporary gold ones! Gahhhh they’re fabulous!
